Knitting Pattern PDF

This is the knitting pattern to make the Nativity set. It contains the patterns for Mary, Joseph, the shepherds, baby Jesus, and the basket.

All parts are knitted flat and sewn up at the end. No circular knitting is required.

The figures are made simple. They do not have arms.

You will need

Materials

• 8g fair skin colour DK (light worsted or 8-ply)

• 4g light blue, light brown DK

• 3g each of salmon pink, purple, light green, and brown DK for the bodies

• Small amounts of honey yellow, red-brown, and dark brown DK

• Small amounts of light brown, grey boucle or 2 strands taken from DK

• Small amount of 4-ply white

• Toy stuffing or wool fleece

• Heavy-weight garden wire

• Liquid glue

Tools

• A pair of 2.75mm ( US 2) knitting needles

• Chenille needle or tapestry needle with a fairly sharp point

Knitting skill is basic knit and purl, increasing and decreasing stitches.
